Akron Buchtel Wins in Overtime Thriller
Akron Buchtel High School's football team defeated Warren Harding High School in an overtime thriller on Friday night. The game was tied 21-21 at the end of regulation, and Buchtel went on to win 28-21 in overtime.
Buchtel's Offense Shines
Buchtel's offense was led by running back Torrian Henton, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Jaylin Kemp also had a strong game, passing for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Warren Harding's defense was able to slow down Buchtel's offense in the second half, but Buchtel was able to make some key plays in overtime to secure the victory.
Harding's Defense Stands Tall
Warren Harding's defense played well throughout the game, holding Buchtel to just 21 points in regulation. The Raiders were led by linebacker Jamir Thomas, who had 10 tackles and a sack.
Harding's offense struggled to generate any consistent offense, but they were able to make some big plays in the second half to tie the game and force overtime.
Overtime Thriller
The game went into overtime tied 21-21. Buchtel won the overtime coin toss and elected to receive the ball.
Buchtel drove the ball down the field and scored on a 1-yard touchdown run by Henton. Harding then got the ball and drove down the field, but they were stopped on fourth down at the Buchtel 1-yard line.
Buchtel then took over and ran out the clock to secure the victory.
