Former Defensive Coordinator Leads Bulldogs
Proven Leader Takes the Helm
Mississippi State University has named Zach Arnett as its 35th head football coach. Arnett, a proven leader in the Bulldogs program, has been with Mississippi State for the past three years, serving as defensive coordinator since 2018.
As defensive coordinator, Arnett helped guide Mississippi State to a top-25 defense in 2019 and was named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Defensive Coordinator of the Year. He also played a key role in the Bulldogs' 2018 Outback Bowl victory.
Prior to joining Mississippi State, Arnett spent time as a defensive coordinator at San Jose State and Montana State. He has a reputation as an innovator and strategist, known for his aggressive and attacking style of defense.
